Congrats to former Camp WK superstar leaders Jeff Katz and Andy Chappell, who were appointed Head Coach and Assistant Coach of the Maccabi USA’s Open Women’s Soccer Team.

The team will compete at the 15th European Maccabi Games this summer from July 28-August 7, 2019 in Budapest, Hungry. The European Maccabi Games are a high-level athletic competition for Jewish athletes all over the world aimed at connecting Jews from the Diaspora.

Both Jeff and Andy continue to bring the qualities we take pride in at Camp W*K into their life adventures. These top notch coaches take the lessons and programming they learned from running the Challenge program at Camp and continue to teach them in a classroom based learning environment for their team. The focus being on players getting to know yourself and developing the person. These skills are equally as important as developing the player on the field. When coaches and teammates place a high value on who you are and not just what you do, team performance will improve, as will overall team spirit.

We could not be more proud of these Alum continuing to spread the values of Camp throughout their journey. We hope all Alumni continue to spread our message of community, youth empowerment, personal development, kindness, service, and fun.
