Camper safety and developing life skills are our top priorities. At the heart of W*K, we are a camp where you can feel safe. Safe to do things you’ve never done before, and safe to have a whole lot of fun! Wingate*Kirkland campers feel a sense of freedom when they arrive at Camp because of our warm, nurturing and supportive environment where they feel safe to be themselves.
Choice
Our unique Daily Choice program is designed to let campers choose the activities that excite them the most, on a daily basis. From tennis and sailing, to pottery and quilling, to zombie hunting and lawn bowling – each day is a choice and a wonderful adventure.
Transformation
Our campers walk away with increased self-esteem, new friends and a willingness to try new things. A summer at Wingate*Kirkland is more than just acquiring new skills – it’s about learning skills for life.
Accountability
The purpose of choosing activities, the bunk job chart, dining hall duty, etc. is teach campers accountability and help them develop healthy independence. Counselors and other staff members are trained to help campers understand how their own actions affect themselves and others.
Resilience
At Camp Wingate*Kirkland we put great intention in creating opportunities for campers to build resiliency. Our program allows children to develop self-awareness, mindfulness, self-care, create positive relationships and sense of self. Camp W*K is a safe place for children to try new things without feeling any pressure.
Joy
One of the greatest joys in life is self-pride. A W*K summer means exploring endless possibilities. Campers learn, grow and gain new life experiences. They create friendships and memories to last a lifetime.

DAILY CHOICE PROGRAM
Every day is an adventure
With over 20 different options to choose from for each period, campers have the opportunity to try a full range of traditional camp activities and also some zany stuff like Potions with Professor Scott, Mailman Training, Tennis Baseball, Zombie Hunters, and Intense Sandcastle Building.
