FAQs

How do I get paid?

You will be paid in full by bank transfer on the final day of your contract. Alternatively, you may discuss with Sandy to get paid in smaller chunks throughout the summer. Should you require an advance you will need to fill out a short request form and put it in Sandy’s mailbox.

Does Camp do my laundry?

Camp will provide you with a laundry bag that will be collected and sent for washing once a week. It will even return neatly folded!

Does Camp have WiFi?

During designate time off, staff are welcome to use the office WiFi, please ask someone in the office for the password.

How many people do I live with?

There are approximately 8-12 campers all the same age, 3-4 staff and maybe some CIT’s in every bunk.

What is my major?

This is the area you must run most of your periods in, e.g. Athletics, Boating, Art.

What is there to do on days off?

Cape Cod is an amazing area with lots of beaches, seaside towns, bars and restaurants, movie theaters, mini golf etc. If you want the city life, then Boston is only 90 minutes drive away.

What happens during staff training?

Staff Training is a chance for the leaders to teach and prepare you for everything you will come across over the summer. You will get to know all the staff and learn how to work with one another, practice running periods, learn to work with children in certain situations, play lots of games, find out exactly which age group you are going to live with, probably go bowling and much more.

What is the difference between programming and generals?

Programming – the activities counselors run.

Generals – the two free periods campers do not sign up for but can go anywhere around camp.

What’s the weather like during the summer?

Mostly excellent. Sunny and between 70-80°F with the very occasional day of rain.

How much money do I need to bring to camp?

The only money you need is what you want for your time off. You will have 7 days off over the summer and roughly 2 out of 3 nights off. (you can have an excellent day off for $50-$60 including big breakfast, beach, dinner and an activity like minigolf)

What time should I plan on arriving to Camp on my first day?

You may arrive any time the day before your contracted start date if you are traveling from a long way away. If you are local and arriving the day staff training starts you should arrive by 10am. Whenever you plan on arriving, YOU MUST tell the W*K office so we can make arrangements to welcome you in or pick you up from the bus station.

What is the food like at Camp?

AMAZING! Three fantastic meals a day, cooked fresh and onsite by the incredible Kitchen Staff lead by Chef T.
