Dan Zibel was a second-year counselor who lived with the second-oldest campers. He had been a camper at WK. He taught swimming, frisbee and juggling. He comes from Wellesley, Massachusetts and attended Haverford College.
Why Camp?
"Being a camp counselor has to be one of the greatest ways that someone could spend a summer. Many of my friends either talk about 'the great learning experience' they had over the summer or 'how much fun' they had. I think that very few jobs give the opportunity to combine the two remarks. Working so intensely with so many kids has taught me more than I could have ever asked for, but it has also given me many summers of great fun. Growing up at camp, I never really knew if the counselors really enjoyed their jobs or not. I always wondered if they liked me, or they just had to pretend to like me simply because they were paid to. When I started as a counselor, I never thought that I could possibly become such good friends with people significantly younger than I."
