At Camp Wingate Kirkland, campers live in bunks with kids their own age.
While campers choose their own activities during the day, much of their time is spent
with bunkmates - preparing Evening Activity skits, going on Sunday hikes, and serving
meals to the rest of camp.
Bunks are modern buildings, complete with bathrooms, showers and electricity.
Each bunk has two or three counselors specially trained to teach children how
to live cooperatively, share, and listen to each other. Counselors facilitate bunk meetings each week, during which campers discuss any issues pertaining to the group.
