Tuesdays at Camp W*K mean two things: cool clubs and complicated challenges. For the first Tuesday of the summer (yehaw!) older camp is getting acclimated in their challenge groups while younger camp is separated into a variety of clubs. In clubs, campers spend the morning working on a task, exploring new places, and completing awesome projects.
At the waterfront, the Yacht Club
is listening to sophisticated music and testing their skills in all kinds of boats. Kayaks, canoes, row boats, and sail boats are skimming around the water while campers are loving stand-up-paddle boarding and log rolling too. In first crib, H2O sports
are having a great time playing team games and splashing around. Nature club
is exploring all of the kinds of trees around camp and are learning new information about the wildlife they see every day. The gardening club
is also learning about nature’s awesomeness and are getting their hands dirty in the process! In the woodshop, campers are building shoe racks, baseball holders, and clocks while learning all about tools and measurements.
While younger clubs are busy learning and building, older camp is participating in team building challenges. First on the Frog Pond field, campers did activities like trust falls and made a tunnel of arms to run through to prepare their groups for trusting one another on the ropes course. Challenge 2 and Challenge 3 are team building in activities like the whale watch, an elevated trust fall, and the spider web.
No matter how old you are, Tuesdays are stimulating and fulfilling at W*K. Campers enjoy taking a break from their normal schedule and working in groups to make new friends and develop new skills.
