Below are the stats, because we have to give you some real background so you know we’re legit! But more than that, Sandy and Will love your kids. Plain and simple, summer camp at W*K puts them in the best possible hands – other than your own.
Will was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. He spent 13 summers at Camp Wigwam for Boys. He graduated with a BA in Journalism from Ithaca College in 1994. He was fortunate to meet his wife and business partner Sandy while at IC.
For the past 12 years, he has worked full-time as a camping professional at Wigwam, Caribou for Boys and Campus Kids-Minisink.
In 2004, Will and Sandy agreed to purchase and direct Camp W*K. Along with eight year-old daughter Mia, two year-old daughter Sarah, four-legged children Dexy and Eddie, a Mini Pig named “Z” and 14 hens, Will and Sandy live and work at Camp W*K full-time.
Will is the past president of the Massachusetts Camping Association, current President of the board of Cape Cod Child Development and a past Recreation Commissioner for The Town of Yarmouth. In his free time, he enjoys going to the movies, seeing live music, especially Phish, reading and spending time with family on Cape Cod. He is also a rabid fan of the Super Bowl 47 Champion Ravens and believes Buck Showalter will lead The Orioles back to The World Series.
Sandy spent her youth in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She grew up in Bala Cynwyd and went to camp for 10 years. She was a camper, CIT, counselor and worked part-time in the winter office. She graduated with a BA in Film Studies from Ithaca College. In addition to being co-director of Camp Wingate*Kirkland, she also is part-owner of an innovative company that uses heat to safely and effectively remedy problems with bed bugs and more.
